At intensity 12 — the highest rating Nespresso assigns — this capsule is engineered for those who want their espresso to make a statement. The blend combines two different Robustas from Brazil and Guatemala with Arabica, an unusual composition that delivers raw power, peppery spice, and a smoky darkness that lingers long after the last sip.

The first thing you notice is the crema: dense, dark, and almost aggressive in its richness. The flavor opens with black pepper and wood smoke, transitions through a resinous, almost leathery mid-palate, and finishes with a deep, lingering smokiness. The bitterness is maximal at 5 out of 5, but it is a structured, purposeful bitterness — more dark beer than burnt toast.
